A downloadable game

Hyper Wings is a fast space shooter for Amiga (1MB RAM). It is developed completely in assembly language and was optimized for Amiga 500 (OCS), but also runs on all other Amigas.

=> The game is included in the AmigaLive game database. So you can also fight battles against other users on AmigaLive.com!

The game was influenced by Spacewar (B. Seiler) and other space shooter games like Asteroids.  The intention was to get a fast space shooter game on Amiga with high framerate (50fps) and lots of action which is just fun to play.

Current version is 2.21 (final).

 - Ships are controlled with joystick in the classic way:

      - up: propulsion
      - left/right : rotate
      - fire: use weapon
      - down: change weapon
      - down + button = hyperjump
(...to another random position. Reduces health -1 and
destroys active missiles and laser shots.
        So use it carefully!)

- You can play either 1 Player (against cpu) or 2 Player games.

- Game modes are : "single fight" or "best of five"

- For 1 Player games, different difficulty levels can be chosen

- Sound options are: sfx+music, music only, sfx only

Hi Geldo,

Great game indeed, congratulations! Our Amiga Vault Team is specialized in the creation/conversion of Amiga games and programs in standard WHDLoad format with specific slave, custom splash screen, hybrid icon (OldIcon+NewIcon+ColorIcon) compatible with all AmigaOS, and readme file.

As we have done with some Amiga games released in recent months (Ami-H.E.R.O, Ami Robbo 2, Frank Brush, Ghosts 'n Goblins AGA, Hop To The Top, International Kopycat Plus, Kondi Krush, Metro Siege, Neon World, Soko-Ban, Spheroid and Yoomp!) and as we will do for some games currently in development as soon as they are ready (Krogharr, Soltys and Street Fighter), we would like to convert your game into WHDLoad format and share it with you so that, if you wish, you can include it as an additional version for the benefit of the Amiga community.

Unfortunately, when trying to install the game on HD and convert it, we found that during startup it gets stuck on the disk 2 request and does not go forward even though all the files inside the ADF are present in the folder, so we were wondering: could you create a version that can be installed on HD so as to make our task easier and create a standard WHDLoad version? If so, it would be fantastic, and I think that many Amiga users would appreciate both a version that can be installed on HD and a version ready to go in WHDLoad: what do you think about it? It would be an honor and a pleasure for us to collaborate with you! :)

Best Regards

Amiga Vault Team

Hi, thanks for your interest. You are not the first to ask for a hd installable version. So, now i started to figure out how to do it. I'll keep you informed.

Perfect, thank you so much for your availability! We don't know if this can help, but the previous versions of the game on a single adf worked perfectly by copying the content on hd.

Once the HD installable version will be ready, for the whdload version we will provide of making it and sharing it with you, so that if you want you can include it among the itch.io downloads😉

Thanks again and good job😊

The single disk version just had everything in the exe which was loaded to memory on startup. Since i wanted to be able to load different songs and background gfx, i had to put them on a second disk. The program then loads data to memory when needed. But the file loader is limited to floppy disks. So that has to be modified somehow.

Thanks for explanation, all clear, hoping you sort it out soon (but no rush mate😉)

Nice game!

Thanks Saberman!!!

Thank you!

Very good game with excellent music, definitely fun for a two player game. I also added it to my new video along with other recently released Amiga games.

thx a lot! 😃
